Sweet harmonies, magnificent melodies, and fabulous voice percussion filled the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville for the acts participating in the Sing-Off tour. The Vanderbilt Melodores, The Exchange, Vocal Play, and Street Corner Symphony entertained entertained the packed house for two hours. While each group displayed their distinctive musical style, the beat boxers amazed the audience with their talents. How on earth could all those musical sounds come from a human! Being a long time fan of harmony, I loved hearing the songs the groups did when they "laid down the mikes" and performed the traditional acapella. My daughter's favorite, "Uptown Funk" covered by Street Corner Symphony. My mon loved hearing Vocal Play sing "Elvira." The bass singer could compete with Richard Sturben of the Oak Ridge Boys. My favorites, "Take Me to Church" by the Melodores and "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" by the cast.
It was a wonderful girl's night out and a great start to spring break.
